Department of Food and Nutrition Organises Cake Decoration and Sugarcraft Display
The Department of Food and Nutrition Education has held an exhibition of cake decoration, sugarcraft and practices in family living for its final year students at the forecourt of the Faculty of Home Economics Education.
The students adorned their tables with a variety of cakes including wedding, organisational, anniversary, “kente” designed, mirror glazed, jelly, fancy cakes of all kinds and home improvement artefacts such as paper flowers, floor mats, chandeliers, scatter cushion, chair backs, table runners, placemats and a lot more.
Virtual Mobility Project Workshop held for UEW and University of Derby Students
The University of Education, Winneba (UEW), Ghana and the University of Derby, United Kingdom (UoD-UK), have held a three-day virtual mobility project workshop to enhance the understanding of students on cross-cultural awareness of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for 30 students from varied subject areas of both institutions.
The workshop highlighted UNESCO’s Education for Sustainable Development Framework to develop an online inter-cultural exchange between students from Ghana and the UK to concentrate on the theme of a sustainable future.
Project Exhibition Organised for Level 400 Physics Students
A project exhibition has been organised for level 400 elective physics students at the Department of Physics Education Laboratory Two (2) at the South Campus of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW), on Tuesday, 14th September, 2021.
The one-day event saw the Department’s young enthusiastic final year students exhibiting science projects they had worked on during their course of study.
Physics Education Lecturers Trained on the Usage of Photonics Kits
Lecturers in the Department of Physics Education under the Faculty of Science Education (FSE), University of Education, Winneba (UEW), have undergone a day’s hands-on virtual workshop on the effective usage of photonics kits.
They were educated on how to use the kits to perform fundamental modules in polarisation of light, diffraction and interference, colours, lenses and telescopes.

The School of Business of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW), placed third at the 3rd edition of the Tertiary Business Sense Challenge spearheaded by Graphic Business in partnership with the Ministry of Business Development and the Institute of Chartered Accountants, Ghana.
Lecturers Support Student Elections amid COVID-19
Four lecturers in the School of Business, University of Education, Winneba (UEW), have donated assorted items to support the upcoming elections of the Students’ Representative Council (SRC) and the Graduate Students’ Association of Ghana (GRASAG), UEW Chapter.
The items were nose masks, hand sanitisers and an amount of GH₵ 500.00 each to SRC and GRASAG-UEW, to enable them to strictly adhere to the COVID-19 safety protocols during the elections scheduled for Friday, 10th September for SRC and 24th September, 2021 for GRASAG-UEW.
Fashion Show for Final Year Professional Techniques Students Held
Final year students in the Department of Clothing and Textiles Education, University of Education, Winneba (UEW), who opted for Professional Techniques in Clothing Construction have undergone their customary fashion show as part of their examination requirements.
ITECPD Prompts Staff on Roles in the Administration of Quality Programmes
The Institute for Teacher Education and Continuing Professional Development (ITECPD), University of Education Winneba (UEW), has organised a workshop to remind staff of their roles in the running of quality programmes at the University.
The one-day workshop took place at the Graduate Seminar Room at the Department of Psychology and Education, Faculty of Educational Studies in the North Campus of UEW on Monday, 30th August, 2021.
2020/2021 GRASAG-UEW Executive Donates to School of Graduate Studies
The Executive of the University of Education, Winneba Chapter of the Graduate Students’ Association of Ghana (GRASAG-UEW) for the 2020/2021 academic year has donated assorted items to the School of Graduate Studies (SGS).
The items were five projectors and four public address systems to support the process of delivering quality teaching and learning at the University for postgraduate students.
