Faculty of Science Education Undergoes Maiden Retreat
The Faculty of Science Education (FSE), University of Education, Winneba (UEW), embarked on its maiden retreat at the Elmina Beach Resort in the Central Region of Ghana from Thursday, 26th to Sunday, 29th August, 2021.
The retreat, intended to improve productivity and efficiency of staff in the Faculty, was under the theme: “Pathway to Professional Growth, Best Teaching and Research Practices”.
DRID Shows Pathways to Making UEW Outstanding in Research and Innovations
The Directorate of Research, Innovation and Development (DRID), University of Education, Winneba (UEW), has organised a research funding and grantsmanship conference to rejuvenate exploration and inventive aptitudes for members of convocation.
The conference was held in line with the UEW Strategic Plan of 2019-2023, intended to build the research capacity of staff of the University through grantsmanship and international cooperation.
UEW Donates to NCCE to Support Sensitisation Campaigns of the Latter
The University of Education, Winneba (UEW) has donated 200 copies of pocket size 1992 constitution booklet to the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) to intensify its sensitisation campaigns and also conscientise citizens to know their rights and obligations.
The short ceremony was held on Friday, 20th August, 2021, at the forecourt of the Administration Block of UEW.
Presenting the items on behalf of the University, the Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Andy Ofori-Birikorang told the NCCE to consider the qualitative value of the items and not the monetary value.
UEW HIV/AIDS Unit Launches Sensitisation Campaign
The HIV/AIDS Unit of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW), in conjunction with the Anti-Retroviral and Treatment Unit of the Winneba Municipal Hospital, has organised free diabetes, malaria and HIV/AIDS testing with counselling for staff and students of UEW.

A five-member research team undertaking a project entitled “The Early Education for Young Deaf Children and their Caregivers in Ghana” has organised an impact workshop on the research project for stakeholders at the Windy-Bay Guest House in Winneba.
Gender Mainstreaming Directorate Holds 2nd Phase of Leadership Seminar
The Gender Mainstreaming Directorate of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW), has organised a day’s symposium for UEW women leaders, staff and students at the North Campus Assembly Hall in Winneba.
The seminar, which took place on Wednesday, 11th August, 2021, was under the theme “Women’s Journey to Leadership: Challenges, Opportunities and Way Forward”.
Final Extension of Registration Deadline
Students are to note that Management has granted a final extension for the 2020/2021 second semester Registration. This extension would end on Thursday the 22nd of July 2021.
Any student who fails to take advantage of this extension would not be able to take part in the Mid-Semester Examination which starts on the 25th of July, 2021.
Students would be required to show Proof of Registration before taking part in the Mid-Semester Examinations.

Promotion Exercise for Junior and Senior Staff
Applications are invited from qualified Senior and Junior Staff of the University for the July 2021 promotions. Requests for application forms should be directed to the Registrar.
Application and Assessment Forms will be sent only to applicants who meet the criteria for promotion as outlined in the “PROMOTION PROCEDURES FOR SENIOR/JUNIOR STAFF OF THE UNIVERSITY”.
