Deputy Minister of Education Lauds UEW for Role in Developing Educational Policies
The Deputy Minister of Education, Hon. John Ntim Fordjour, has lauded the University of Education, Winneba (UEW), for playing significant roles in the area of developing educational policy frameworks and training teachers in Ghana.
He emphasised the Government's willingness to assist UEW and other higher education institutions in carrying out their mandates by improving facilities to accommodate the large number of applicants who would be knocking on their doors for admission.
UEW Continues to Excel in Providing Quality Education – Council Chair
The Chairman of the Governing Council, University of Education, Winneba (UEW), Nana Ofori Ansah I, has said that UEW has continued to excel in providing quality education in Ghana and beyond to fulfil its role as a Centre of Excellence for Teacher Education.
He stated that the University recently signed a memorandum of understanding with the Ghana Armed Forces to establish a Study Centre at the Ghana Military Academy and Training School, Accra-Teshie, to train military officers for their professional and personal growth.

Department of Political Science Education to Develop PhD Programme
The Head, Department of Political Science Education (DPSE), University of Education, Winneba (UEW), Mrs. Anitha Oforiwah Adu-Boahen, has disclosed the Department’s intention to roll out a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) programme in Political Science to add to its postgraduate programmes.
Mrs. Anitha Adu-Boahen also revealed that her Department with the Department of History Education (DHE) had come of age and was thus, in the process of upgrading to the status of a School at UEW.
