Prof. Stephen Jobson Mitchual, the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) has called for urgent and deliberate reforms in Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) systems to equip Africa’s youthful population with practical skills for economic transformation.   

The University of Education, Winneba (UEW) Innovation Hub in collaboration with the Effutu Municipal Assembly (EMA) has taken a step towards addressing youth unemployment and promoting entrepreneurship by presenting start-up kits to trainees.

The event, held at the UEW Innovation Hub on Thursday, 16th April, 2026, saw 42 beneficiaries receive equipment to launch their own businesses. It was part of the Ghana Enterprises Agency (GEA)/Mastercard Foundation Biz Box Project.

The Procurement Office at the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) has organised a four-day intensive procurement training programme from Monday, 13th to Thursday, 16th April, 2026. The training aims to strengthen institutional capacity and enhance compliance with national procurement regulations.   

Level 300 students pursuing CLT351: Apparel Design and Construction at the Department of Clothing and Textiles Education (DCTE), University of Education, Winneba (UEW) have showcased creativity, innovation and technical expertise at a vibrant fashion show.  

The event was held on Wednesday, 8th April, 2026, at the forecourt of the Faculty of Health, Allied Sciences and Home Economics Education (FASHEE).

The University of Education, Winneba (UEW) and the State Insurance Company (SIC) have initiated discussions to strengthen their long-standing partnership with a focus on expanding insurance coverage, enhancing service delivery and exploring broader institutional collaboration.
