Management Signs Commencement Agreement with Kingdom Books and Stationery Limited

Management of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) has today, Wednesday, 17th June, 2020 signed a Memorandum of Commencement with Kingdom Books and Stationery Limited at the Council Chamber, North Campus, UEW.

This is to enable Kingdom Books and Stationery Limited (KBSL) to commence the construction of a purpose-built UEW Bookshop at the University’s North campus. By the agreement signed today, UEW has granted access to KBSL to commence the project to ensure early completion.

Minister Commends UEW Management for Proactive Measures to Receiving Final Year Students

The Minister of State in Charge of Tertiary Education, Prof. Kwesi Yankah has lauded the Management of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) for its proactive steps to receiving final year students back on campus, after an unusual break occasioned by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Minister expressed extreme satisfaction with the rigorous measures put in place by the University authority to ensuring the safety of final year students who are back on campus to complete the 2019/2020 academic year.

COLTEK-UTAG, Individuals Extend Support to Staff Rendering Essential Services on Campus

The College of Technology Education, Kumasi (COLTEK) branch of the University Teachers Association of Ghana (UTAG) and several individual staff of COLTEK have made donations to the skeletal staff who remained on duty to render essential services in the College during the lockdown of Greater Kumasi and its contiguous districts because of COVID-19.

Key among the donations were a cash amount of GH₵ 5,000.00 presented to the staff of the College Clinic by COLTEK-UTAG and 50 packs of small-size bottled water to the Security Unit of the College.

Clothing Production Unit Hones both Technical and Vocational Skills

The Coordinator of Clothing Production Unit (CPU), University of Education, Winneba (UEW), Mrs. Victoria Ghanney has disclosed that CPU not only focuses on academic work but also sharpens the vocational and technical skills of its students.

She reckoned that several dressmakers had acquired knowledge from CPU and become very successful in the fashion industry.

Vice-Chancellor Empowers UEW Security Personnel in the Discharge of Duties

The Vice-Chancellor, Rev. Fr. Prof. Anthony Afful-Broni has empowered security personnel of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) to be brave and professional in executing their duties.

He authorised them to ensure that every staff or stakeholder who enters the University or any office adheres to official rules and follow the laid down precautionary measures by the University in fighting the coronavirus pandemic.

IDeL Co-ordinators, Administrators Urged to support UEW Become Best in DE Delivery in West Africa

The Institute for Distance and e-Learning (IDeL) of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) has held a four-day review workshop for its Study Centre Coordinators and Administrators in Kumasi with a call on participants to demonstrate devotion in supporting UEW to offer the best quality Distance Education (DE) in the West African sub-region.
