Department of Educational Administration and Management Holds Maiden Public Lecture
The Department of Educational Administration and Management under the Faculty of Educational Studies (FES) on Thursday, 5th March, 2020 held its maiden public lecture for staff and students of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW).
The lecture, which took place at the Jophus Anamuah-Mensah Conference Centre, North Campus, Winneba, was held on the topic “Beyond the call of duty: a Paradigm Shift for Productivity in Higher Education in West Africa”.
UEW Political Science Student Grabs Databank Leadership and Excellence Award
A level 300 Political Science Student of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW), Ms. Jennifer De-Graft Ninson has won a Databank Leadership and Excellence Award organised by Databank Foundation. Ms. De-Graft Ninson emerged as one of the winners for the Award organised on Wednesday, 19th February, 2020 at the Databank Head Office in Accra.
The Foundation since the year 2008, annually awards undergraduate students from tertiary institutions who have exhibited entrepreneurial, leadership and academic excellence during their studies.
A Lecturer and two Students make UEW Proud
The image of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) continues to soar as a lecturer wins national and international awards in her area of expertise and research.
Dr. Mavis Amo-Mensah, who is a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Communication and Media Studies, won the PR Academic of the year at the Eighth National PR and Communications Excellence Awards organised by the Institute of Public Relations (IPR), Ghana and 2019 Outstanding Author Contribution award organised by Emerald Publishing.
Radio Windy Bay Holds Fourth Community Outreach Programme in Effutu Ateitu
As part of its monthly community outreach programme, Radio Windy Bay, visited Ateitu, a suburb in the Effutu Municipality to have a first-hand account of developmental challenges confronting the community and to join with various stakeholders to propose remedies to the same.
The programme, dubbed ’Asɛm yi dzi ka, among other things also aims at educating and sensitizing communities within the Effutu municipality on the need to take responsibility for their actions and inactions, as well as hold accountable, the authorities for their development needs.
SRC Supports FES and School of Creative Arts
The Students’ Representative Council (SRC) of the University of Education, Winneba has donated public address systems to the Faculty of Educational Studies (FES), School of Creative Arts and some Departments of the University.
Gender Mainstreaming Directorate Organises Conference for Women Leaders
The Gender Mainstreaming Directorate in partnership with the National Union of Ghana Students (NUGS) Women’s Commission has organised a day’s conference for women leaders on the theme “Women in Student Leadership: Challenges, Opportunities, Way Forward”.
The conference, held on Friday, 14th February, 2020 at the School of Creative Arts Conference Room, Central Campus, was chaired by the Vice-Chancellor, Rev. Fr. Prof. Anthony Afful-Broni.
UEW Management pays Courtesy call on Okyenhene
The Management of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) on Saturday, 7th December, 2019, paid a courtesy call on the Paramount Chief of Akyem Abuakwa Traditional Area, Osagyefo Amoatia Ofori Panin II to express its sincere gratitude for his honouring the invitation to deliver the 2nd Public Lecture to mark the University’s 25th Anniversary celebrations.
