UEW Ranked Among the Best Universities in Ghana – Vice-Chancellor

The Vice-Chancellor, Rev. Fr. Prof. Anthony Afful-Broni has affirmed that the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) has been ranked among the best universities in the country. 

He stated that his administration had shown leadership and brought to testament the avowed belief that knowledge nurtured at UEW would become a source of enlightenment and empowerment to all peoples of contemporary and future society. 

ITECPD Focused on Copartnerships to Groom Mentees

The Institute for Teacher Education and Continuing Professional Development (ITECPD), University of Education, Winneba (UEW), is enthralled on deepening mutual partnerships with mentors in the School Internship Programme (SIP), to groom the University’s student-teachers into world class professionals.

This came to light at the opening of a two-week training workshop for selected headteachers and mentors of SIP in the northern sector, who will serve as mentors for level 400 students embarking on internship in partner schools, at the Wadoma Royale Hotel, Abuakwa-Kumasi. 

UEW Farm to be Transformed into a Centre of Excellence for Agri-foods Research

The new Manager of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) Farm, Mr. Kwame Ayisi Lartey has disclosed his intention to transform the University Farm into a Centre of Excellence for agri-foods research and technology education.  

He added that he would endeavour to make UEW Farm a reliable supply chain of quality and affordable food products for the University community.    

The Farm Manager revealed this in an interview he granted to the Department of Media Relations at his office. 

ITECPD Equips Mentors for the School Internship Programme

The Institute for Teacher Education and Continuing Professional Development (ITECPD), University of Education, Winneba (UEW), has organised a week-long intensive workshop for trained and untrained mentors for the School Internship Programme (SIP). 

The workshop, under theme: “Training and Retraining Mentors for the School Internship Programme”, took place from Monday, 8th to Saturday, 13th February, 2021, at Windy Lodge Hotel, Winneba. 

Prof. Ofori-Birikorang Lauds IUCDS for Promoting Quality Teaching and Research

The Ag. Pro-Vice-Chancellor of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW), Prof. Andy Ofori-Birikorang, has lauded the Inter-University Conference for Doctoral Studies (IUCDS) for promoting quality teaching and research by harmonising resources for staff development.

He commended the Vice-Chancellors and Rectors of the various partner institutions and members of the Conference for embracing the idea of setting up of a permanent university framework as a platform for staff development, for training the required manpower, and for exchange of students through the IUCDS.

Department of Political Science Education Holds Maiden Colloquium for Graduate Students

The Department of Political Science Education under the Faculty of Social Sciences Education (FSSE), University of Education, Winneba (UEW) on Thursday, 28th January, 2021, held its first-ever colloquium in the Department for Graduate Students.  

The colloquium, which took place at the J. N. Aryeetey Auditorium in the South Campus of the University, was held under the theme, “Politics Amidst a Pandemic: Ghana’s Responses to the Outbreak of COVID-19”.
