Chairman of UEW Governing Council Interacts with Staff
The Chairman of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) Governing Council, Nana Ofori Ansah I, has met with all levels of University staff to clear the air about recent events at the university.
The meetings were held on Tuesday, 8th March, 2022 with Members of Convocation and Wednesday, 9th March, 2022 with Senior and Junior Staff at the Jophus Anamuah-Mensah Conference Centre, North Campus, Winneba.
UEW HPERS Organises Debut Hydrotherapy Workshop
The Department of Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Sports (HPERS), University of Education, Winneba (UEW) in collaboration with the Ghana Foot Volley Association has organised a four-day educational and experiential Hydrotherapy workshop for its students.
The workshop, which also witnessed the involvement of nurses, navy officers, prisons service personnel and physiotherapists, taught participants how to use water to balance the nervous system, treat sports related injuries and rehabilitate the body.
UEW to Enhance Academic Integrity with the Adoption of Turnitin
The Directorate of ICT Services, University of Education, Winneba (UEW) has created “Turnitin Accounts” for all academic staff to promote originality and quality of research works produced by students and staff of the University to enhance research output and academic standards.
Turnitin is an internet-based plagiarism detection service.
UEW Governing Council Chairman Meets Management on Reinstatement of Prof. Mawutor Avoke and Five Others
The Chairman of the UEW Governing Council has met with Management of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) as part of the processes of complying with the Court’s ruling to reinstate Prof. Mawutor Avoke and Five Others to the University.
The Chairman informed Management that Prof. Avoke and the Five Others will resume work with immediate effect. Present at the meeting were Prof. Mawutor Avoke, Dr. Theophilus Ackorlie, Mr. Frank Owusu Boateng, Ms. Mary Dzimey and Daniel Tetteh who are part of staff reinstated.

The management of SIMPA Hall, University of Education, Winneba (UEW), has partnered with telecommunications giants, MTN Ghana Limited, Winneba branch, for the biometric SIM card re-registration as part of efforts to bring convenience to students and staff in the ongoing nationwide sim registration exercise.

Management of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW), has inaugurated a seven-member Unity, Reconciliation and Inclusion Committee with the mandate to initiate the process of healing.
The Committee, unveiled on Tuesday, 1st February, 2022, at the Council Chamber of UEW, comprised Prof. Francis Owusu Mensah (Chairman), Dr. Charlotte Fofo Lomotey, Mrs. Esther Yeboah Danso-Wiredu (PhD), Dr. Anselm Komla Abotsi, Dr. Richardson Addai-Munumkum, Dr. Regina Oforiwaa Caesar and Dr. (Mrs.) Patricia Ananga (Secretary).
UEW Council Chairman Pays Courtesy Calls on Effutu and Ajumako Paramount Chiefs
The Council Chairman of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW), Nana Ofori Ansah I, with the Management of the University, has paid courtesy calls on the Paramount Chiefs of the Effutu and Ajumako Traditional Councils.
The visits were intended to introduce Nana Ofori Ansah I, who was accompanied by another government nominee on the Council, Mr. Alex Bonney, a native of Winneba, to the overlords of the Effutu and Ajumako traditional areas, where the campuses of the University are located.
UEW and Ohio University Academics Host Dissemination Workshop
A Lecturer in the School of Creative Arts (SCA), University of Education, Winneba (UEW), Prof. Cosmas W. K. Mereku and his counterpart from Ohio University, Athens, Ohio, USA, Prof. Paschal Yao Younge, have organised a dissemination workshop at the SCA Conference Room.
The goal of the workshop was to allow the researchers to share findings from their 40-day research project on the topic "African Children's Games: Musicality and Creativity in their Natural State" with targeted public stakeholders.
IUCDS Enriches Research Skills of PhD Students
The Inter-University Conference for Doctoral Studies (IUCDS) has organised a three-day seminar under the theme “Research Skills Development and Techniques Application, Using Innovations in Learning Technologies for Language Teaching/Learning and Research” for doctoral students of Sister Institutions.
