UEW SCA Pop Band Thrills Audience at President Mahama’s 67th Birthday Celebration

The 67th birthday of the President of the Republic of Ghana, H.E. John Dramani Mahama, was marked in grand style on Sunday, 30th November 2025, during a colourful thanksgiving service at the Assemblies of God Church Headquarters, Ringway, Accra.

The ceremony, attended by national leaders, clergy, family and well-wishers, was distinguished by a strong artistic presence from the University of Education, Winneba (UEW), whose musical performance became one of the day’s defining highlights.

Mr. Lawrence Gyasi Senior, valedictorian for the 2025 graduating class of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW), has delivered stirring address to celebrate his cohort’s resilience and challenged Ghanaian language misconceptions.

He urged graduates to step into the world as cultural guardians and creators of new opportunities. He emphasised the importance of confidence in Ghanaian languages and cultures, encouraging graduates to become torchbearers of cultural and intellectual renewal.

UEW Management Meets Family of Late First Principal, Prof. Pecku

Management of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW), has met with the family of the late Prof. Nathaniel Kofi Pecku, the first substantive principal of the then University College of Education, Winneba (UCEW).

The meeting, held at the University’s Council Chamber, served as a formal notification of his passing and an opportunity to discuss arrangements for his funeral.

The University of Education, Winneba (UEW) on Friday, 26th September 2025, honoured 32 distinguished staff members at a farewell party held at the SEMSA Club House, North Campus.

UEW Art Students Transform “Waste to Worth” in Striking 46-Foot Installation

On Thursday, 18th September, 2025, the forecourt of the Students Centre at the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) was transformed into a vibrant art space as three final-year students of the Department of Art Education unveiled a monumental 46-foot installation titled “Waste to Worth.”

The outdoor display which drew faculty, curators, students and visitors, explored themes of environmental sustainability and cultural identity while challenging prevailing attitudes towards waste.
