The Division of Human Resource at the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) has organised an orientation programme for National Service Personnel assigned to the University for the 2025/2026 service year. They were urged to demonstrate professionalism, integrity and a strong commitment to their duties.  

The University of Education, Winneba (UEW), informs the 2025 graduands and the general public that the Second Session of the 30th Congregation will be held in person from Wednesday, 22nd to Saturday, 25th April, 2026, at the Jophus Anamuah-Mensah Conference Centre, North Campus, Winneba.

Prof. Jophus Anamuah-Mensah, the first Vice-Chancellor of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) has called for a fundamental shift in societal attitudes towards Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET). He emphasised that Africa’s development depends on valuing skills, competence and innovation just as much as academic achievement.

Prof. Emer. Clifford Nii Boi Tagoe, a former Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ghana, has described the transformation of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) as a “strategic imperative” for Africa’s economic future. He urged governments and stakeholders to reposition skills development at the centre of national planning.

The University of Education, Winneba (UEW) in collaboration with the ESDEV Foundation Africa and key partners, hosted the inaugural Jophus Anamuah-Mensah Annual Public Lecture. The event brought together policymakers, academics, industry leaders and development partners to promote Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) as a catalyst for Africa’s socio-economic transformation.

The Department of Basic Education of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) officially launched its 25th anniversary celebration with a call on stakeholders to build resilient and equitable basic education systems capable of sustaining Ghana’s future development.

The Chaplaincy of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) has held its second interdenominational church service for the first semester of the 2025/2026 academic year. During this service, participants were encouraged to make prudent use of their time and seize available opportunities effectively.

The University of Education, Winneba (UEW) Student Chapter of the American Chemical Society (ACS-UEW) organised a post-conference clinic to enhance students’ skills in research communication and professional networking at the South Campus on Thursday, 19th March, 2026.
