UEW Matriculates 348 Sandwich Students for the 2024/2025 Academic Year

The University of Education, Winneba (UEW) on Friday, 31st October, 2025, held a Matriculation Ceremony for the 2024/2025 cohort of sandwich students at the Jophus Anamuah-Mensah Conference Centre, North Campus, Winneba.

The colourful event, which was held in a hybrid format, both in-person and virtual, officially admitted 348 fresh students into the University to pursue various undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.

UEW Innovation Hub Launches Government’s Adwumawura Training Programme for Entrepreneurs

The University of Education, Winneba (UEW) Innovation Hub has commenced training business owners and entrepreneurs as part of the Government of Ghana’s flagship Adwumawura Programme. This initiative aims to equip 10,000 Ghanaians with practical entrepreneurial and management skills.

The training commenced on Monday, 27th October, 2025, at the Students' Centre Seminar Room III, North Campus, Winneba.

UEW and UNESCO Launch MIL Adaption Project for Teachers

Eight scholars from the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) have launched an initiative aimed at integrating Media and Information Literacy (MIL) into Ghana’s teacher education system.

The project, supported by a UNESCO Ghana grant, seeks to adapt and implement the UNESCO MIL Curriculum to equip trainee teachers with the competencies needed to navigate the increasingly complex digital information landscape.

SoB-UEW Hosts THINKGEES Entrepreneurship and Employability Workshop

The School of Business (SoB) at the University of Education, Winneba (UEW), in collaboration with the UEW Innovation Hub, the University of Ghana Business School (UGBS), the British Council and AfriVenture has organised a capacity-building workshop to train students in entrepreneurship, innovation and employability skills.

The workshop, dubbed THINK Graduate Entrepreneurship and Employability Training (THINKGEES), took place at the North Campus of the UEW on Wednesday, 15th October, 2025.

UEW Partners with eTranzact to Enhance ICT Education

The Management of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) and eTranzact Ghana Limited have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to promote technological innovation, strengthen research collaboration and enhance the employability of students through practical industry experience in financial technology and mobile technology development.

The agreement was signed at the Council Chamber of the University on Thursday, 16th October, 2025.
