Sensitization on Ghana Teacher Licensure Examination Reforms

The National Teaching Council is embarking on a nationwide sensitization exercise for all staff and final year students at the Colleges of Education and Universities that train teachers. The exercise which is aimed at sensitizing participants on the Subject-Based Test (SBT) and Computer-Based Test (CBT) which are being introduced into the Ghana Teacher Licensure Examination will be held in the University of Education, Winneba as indicated below:

Grantsmanship | A Workshop Series by IERIS - UEW

The Institute for Educational Research and Innovation Studies (IERIS), University of Education, Winneba, cordially invites the University community to its workshop series on Grantsmanship scheduled as follows:

High Court ruling in favour of UEW

The Cape Coast High Court presided over by His Lordship Justice Kwasi Boakye, has today,  7th September 2022 upheld an Application for Abridgment of time and hearing of Application for Stay of Execution filed by the University of Education, Winneba in a suit filed by the Registrar against the University which the court had earlier granted an interlocutory injunction restraining even Council from meeting among others. With this Order of Stay of Execution, the University Council can meet to do its normal business. The substantive case is billed to be heard in October.

UEW Governing Council Chairman Meets Management on Reinstatement of Prof. Mawutor Avoke and Five Others

The Chairman of the UEW Governing Council has met with Management of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) as part of the processes of complying with the Court’s ruling to reinstate Prof. Mawutor Avoke and Five Others to the University.

The Chairman informed Management that Prof. Avoke and the Five Others will resume work with immediate effect. Present at the meeting were Prof. Mawutor Avoke, Dr. Theophilus Ackorlie, Mr. Frank Owusu Boateng, Ms. Mary Dzimey and Daniel Tetteh who are part of staff reinstated.

UEW Faculty of Home Economics Education Embarks on End of Year Retreat

The Faculty of Home Economics Education (FHEE), University of Education, Winneba (UEW), has embarked on a three-day retreat in fulfilment of objective 7.0 of the UEW Corporate Strategic Plan (2019-2023), which stipulates “Developing innovative curriculum and instructional designs with a key performance indicator of attending a retreat annually” and also strengthen bonds at the faculty.
