Department of Theatre Arts Hosts Alswel Academy

Department of Theatre Arts, University of Education, Winneba (UEW), has played host to pupils and students of Alswel Academy, a basic and junior high school in Winneba, on an educational tour to the Department. 

The students and pupils of the Academy were at the Department to learn more about its activities and the various professions associated with the creative arts industry.    

Level 300 UEW Graphic Design Student wins Branding and Package Design Competition

A level 300 student of the Department of Graphic Design, University of Education, Winneba (UEW), George Assiful, has won the first prize for a prestigious Branding and Package Design competition in Ghana. 

The competition was organised by Prof. Shinichi Ito of Musashino Art University, Japan, Motohiro Kurokawa of Takasaki City University of Economics, Japan and Mr. Eric Donkor, Chief Executive Officer of White Beam Concept, Tema, for tertiary institutions in Ghana offering Graphic Design as a programme of study.

2nd Social Studies National Conference held at UEW

The Department of Social Studies Education, University of Education, Winneba (UEW), in collaboration with the National Social Studies Association (NaSSA), has held the second edition of the National Social Studies Conference. 

The event took place at the Jophus Anamuah-Mensah Conference Centre, North Campus of UEW on Wednesday, 3rd November, 2021 under the theme “Development of 21st Century Skills and Competencies: The Role of Social Studies”. 

GRASAG-UEW 2020/2021 Executives Present Citation to Head of URO/Media

The Executives of the Graduate Students’ Association of Ghana, University of Education, Winneba (GRASAG-UEW) Chapter for the 2020/2021 academic year have presented a citation in honour of the Head of Department, University Relations Office and Media (URO/Media), UEW, Dr. Obaapanin Oforiwaa Adu.  

The citation was in appreciation of the kind works of Dr. Obaapanin Adu to the Association. 

Fresh Sandwich Students for the 2020/2021 Academic Year Matriculated

The University of Education Winneba (UEW) has today, Thursday, 4th November, 2021, held a matriculation ceremony to formally initiate fresh sandwich students for the 2020/2021 academic year into the University at the Jophus Anamuah-Mensah Conference Centre.  

The ceremony offered matriculants the platform to profess their allegiance to the authority of UEW through the administration of the Matriculation Oath to signal their formal induction into the University. 

UEW Student Places 3rd in ARSO’s 8th Continental Essay Competition

A final year student of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW), Mr. Emmanuel Quaicoe Dadson, has placed 3rd in the Ghana Standards Authority’s 2020/2021 African Organisation for Standardisation (ARSO) essay competition at the national level.

Mr. Emmanuel Quaicoe Dadson is pursuing a Bachelor of Business Administration in Procurement and Supply Chain Management at the School of Business.

ITECPD and T-TEL Prepare Year-Four Professional Development Manual for CoE

The Institute for Teacher Education and Continuing Professional Development (ITECPD) of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) in conjunction with a Ghanaian not-for-profit organisation, Transforming Teaching, Education and Learning (T-TEL) is formulating a year-four Professional Development (PD) manual for affiliate UEW Colleges of Education (CoE).   

37th ICAG Graduation Ceremony: UEW Graduate Adjudged Overall Best Candidate

A female graduate of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW), Celestine Esi Adzayi, has been crowned the overall best candidate at the 37th Institute of Chartered Accountants, Ghana (ICAG) Graduation Ceremony.

Celestine also emerged as Best First Attempt and Best Female Candidate of the Level 3 CA professional examination.

Prior to her joining the institute on scholarship, 25-year-old Celestine graduated from the University of Education, Winneba with First Class Honours in Bachelor of Business Administration (Accounting) in 2020.

Eight Members of ECOWAS Parliament Visit UEW Management

The Management of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW), received an eight-member delegation from the Parliament of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) on Wednesday, 20th October, 2021, at the Council Chamber, UEW. 

The delegation was at the University to thank its Management for hosting the opening ceremony of a ten-day ECOWAS High-Level Parliamentary Seminar and to bid goodbye.
