UEW Management Bids Farewell to 42 Retirees
The Management of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW), through the Division of Human Resource, has hosted 42 retirees, who have contributed in diverse ways to the growth of the university, to a send-off party.
The ceremony was held at the Jophus Anamuah-Mensah Conference Centre Car Park, North Campus, UEW, on Friday, 23rd September, 2022.
UEW Strengthens Relationship with Evangelische Hochschule Berlin
A two-member delegation from the Evangelische Hochschule Berlin (EHB) – Protestant University of Applied Sciences Berlin, Germany, has called on the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW), Prof. Mawutor Avoke, to explore ways to strengthen the existing relationship between both institutions. They were led by the Dean, Centre for International Programmes (CIP), UEW, Prof. Charles K. Assuah.
The Vice-Chancellor received the delegation on Tuesday, 27th September 2022, at the Council Chamber, North Campus, UEW.
UEW-IERIS Organises Workshop on Grantsmanship for Faculty Members
The Institute for Educational Research and Innovation Studies (IERIS), University of Education, Winneba (UEW), has organised a two-day training on grantsmanship to hone the prospects of lecturers in writing proposals for grants.
The workshop, which took place at the IERIS Conference Room from Thursday, September 22 to Friday, September 23, 2022, also brought perspective to the components of grant budgeting and skills in grant search.
UEW-FFLE Trains Lecturers in Digital Humanities
The Faculty of Foreign Languages Education (FFLE), University of Education, Winneba (UEW), has held a one-day workshop to build the capacity of academic staff on emerging trends in research. It was also intended to help staff engage in innovative research and transfer modern trends in research, particularly to Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) and Master of Philosophy (M.Phil.) students.
The workshop, which took place at the Students Centre Conference Room III, North Campus, UEW, was on the theme “Digital Humanities: Emerging Trends in Research”.
UEW-Mathematics Department on Evidence-based Approaches for Gender Parity in STEM
The Department of Mathematics Education, University of Education, Winneba (UEW), has held a day’s workshop for females in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM), at the School of Creative Arts Conference Room. The workshop, which was also on Zoom, drew some presenters and participants across West Africa.

6th GRASAG-UEW IMCfPS Held
The Graduate Students Association of Ghana, University of Education, Winneba Chapter (GRASAG-UEW), has held its 6th International Multidisciplinary Conference for Postgraduate Students (IMCfPS). It was under the theme “Change and Digital Transformation in the New Normal: The Role of the Postgraduate Student”.
The three-day conference took place at the Jophus Anamuah-Mensah Conference Centre, North Campus, UEW, from Wednesday, 7th to Friday, 9th September, 2022. It was under the distinguished Chairmanship of the Vice-Chancellor of UEW, Prof. Mawutor Avoke.
UEW Vice-Chancellor Inaugurates IERIS Advisory Board
The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW), Prof. Mawutor Avoke, has inaugurated a nine-member advisory board to oversee the operations of the Institute for Educational Research and Innovation Studies (IERIS), UEW.
The board members are the Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Andy Ofori-Birikorang; Director of IERIS-UEW, Prof. Ephraim Avea Nsoh; Ag. Registrar of UEW, Mrs. Wilhelmina Tete-Mensah; and Deputy Registrar of IERIS-UEW, Mr. Collins Owusu-Ansah.
UEW-COLANG Principal Applauds Researchers from Goethe University, Germany
The Principal of the College of Languages Education (COLANG), Ajumako Campus, University of Education, Winneba (UEW), Prof. Dominic Danso Mensah, has praised a team of researchers from the Goethe University, Frankfurt, Germany, for their VP- Periphery of the Mabia Languages Project.
On behalf of the University Management, Prof. Mensah expressed great satisfaction with the research team's inventiveness in fostering high standards of instruction and investigation through joint research. He was hopeful more opportunities would open up for more staff.
