The Department of Counselling Psychology at the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) has intensified efforts to promote mental health awareness and trauma-informed support systems through a two-day Trauma Awareness Walkathon and Community Wellness Programme.

The two-day programme was held under the theme, “Trauma Awareness Walkathon: Restoring Minds, Rebuilding Communities.”  

Pastor Dr. Edward Kofi Tumsiah, the National Overseer of Deeper Life Bible Church, Ghana, has pledged to donate two giant LED screens to the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) to enhance visibility and participation during major university events.

Three talented students from the Department of Textiles and Fashion Education at the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) exhibited their original fabric designs at the ‘Ink and Identity’: An Intercontinental Colloquium on Identity, Heritage and Unity. The event took place on 23 and 24 April 2026 at the Centre for Visual Impairment Studies, Groenkloof Campus, University of Pretoria, South Africa.

Management of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) has initiated discussions with the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) to strengthen agricultural education, biotechnology research, modern farming practices and food security in Ghana.

The discussions took place during a courtesy visit by a delegation from the U.S. Embassy in Ghana led by Dr. Mariano Beillard to UEW Management at UEW’s Council Chamber on Friday, 22nd May 2026.
