TURNITIN SUBSCRIPTION RENEWAL

The University Library announces the renewal of the subscription to Turnitin plagiarism detection software, reaffirming the University’s commitment to academic integrity. Turnitin empowers faculty, researchers, and students to uphold originality and integrity in their scholarly endeavours, further strengthening the University's dedication to academic excellence.

Faculty members are provided with accounts to enable them to efficiently evaluate student submissions, detect potential instances of plagiarism, and provide constructive feedback to foster learning and academic growth.

Students and other staff members are encouraged to visit the library for assistance in utilising Turnitin.

Steps for Setting up a Turnitin User Account

New Lecturers should kindly visit the University Library to have their Turnitin account created.

  • Check your UEW email for a welcome message from Turnitin
  • Click ‘Set up Account’
  • Enter your ‘UEW email address’ and ‘surname’
  • Check UEW email for ‘password set up link’ (valid for 24hrs)
  • Click on ‘Create password’ to create a new password of your choice
  • Click ‘Log in’ and enter your UEW email and the password you just created
  • Next, ‘choose a secret question and appropriate answer’ and click ‘Next’
  • Read the User Agreement and click ‘I Agree – Continue’.
  • Welcome to Turnitin!

Steps for Recovering an Existing Turnitin User Account

Forgotten your Turnitin Account? Don’t Worry

  • Visit Turnitin @ https://www.turnitin.com/login_page.asp
  • Click on ‘Forgotten your password? Click here’
  • Enter a valid staff email address and click ‘Next’
  • Check your staff email for an email from Turnitin with a password reset link.
  • Adhere to the guidelines to reset your password.
  • Contact the University Library if the account does not exist
