Head of URO/Media at UEW Attains National Appointment
The Head of Department, University Relations Office and Media (URO/Media), University of Education, Winneba (UEW), Dr. Obaapanin Oforiwaa Adu has been appointed as a member of the Gender Technical Working Group of the Ministry of Education (MoE).
She is among the 30-member committee tasked to conduct a review of the existing Education Sector Gender Policy to reflect current issues in the Education Strategic Plan (ESP 2018-2030), and ensure mainstreamed, inclusion and safeguarding into policies and programmes.
Governing Council of UEW Inaugurated
The Minister of Education, Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum, today, Thursday, 19th August, 2021, swore in a 14-member Governing Council of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW), at the Conference Room of the Ministry of Education, Accra.
Indefinite Suspension of Electoral Activities of Students' Representative Council (SRC)
It is announced for the information of the entire student body and the University community that all the electoral activities as schedules for August 2021 have been suspended indefinitely.

Online Signing of Distance Education Matriculation Register | 2020/2021
All First-Year Distance Education Students of the University are informed that as part of efforts to curb the spread of the COVID-19, the signing of the Matriculation Register will be done online.
It is important to note that ONLY STUDENTS WHO REGISTER WILL HAVE THEIR NAME IN THE MATRICULATION BROCHURE.
The closing date for this Matriculation Registration exercise is Sunday, 15th August, 2021.
The procedure for the registration is as follows:
SSA-UoG UEW Local Elects Substantive Executives
The Senior Staff Association – Universities of Ghana, University of Education, Winneba Local on Friday, 16th July, 2021, held elections at the University’s North Campus to elect its executives.
The election, which was supervised by the Electoral Commission, Winneba, saw a massive turnout at the polls. The peacefully organised elections started at 9:00 am and closed at 3:00 pm.
GUSSS Holds Stakeholders Meeting
The Ghana Universities Staff Superannuation Scheme (GUSSS), University of Education, Winneba (UEW), has held a meeting to present to its members the Financial Reports as of 31st March, 2021 and status of GUSSS.
The meeting held at the Jophus Anamuah-Mensah Auditorium, North Campus, Winneba, highlighted the 2021 Annual Budget and Operating Plans of the scheme as reviewed by the Management Board and approved by the University Council.
Change of Name of Academic Department
We wish to inform the University community that the Department of Banking and Finance in the School of Business of the University is now known as the Department of Applied Finance and Policy Management.
The change in name was approved by the Academic Board of the University at its meeting held on Tuesday, 23rd February, 2021.
