The Office of Dean of Student Affairs (ODSA) wishes to inform the University Community that there is a letter inviting students for a Local Assembly (LA) meeting slated for Monday, January 30, 2023 at 4:00 pm at the New Auditorium.

The ODSA has no knowledge about the aforementioned meeting and there is no venue in UEW campus called New Auditorium as stated.

The Dean has therefore directed UEW Security to investigate and bring up a report on the matter for culprits to be sanctioned accordingly.

UEW Clinic Operates 24-Hour Healthcare – Ag. Director

The Ag. Director of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) Clinic, Dr. John Kanyiri Yambah, has revealed that his outfit is now open for 24-hour, seven days in a week health care services to the University Community and its surroundings.

Dr. Yambah explained that the move was in fulfillment of the University’s contributions to satisfying the health targets of Sustainable Development Goal 3 (SDG 3), meeting universal health coverage, and enhancing service delivery to staff, students, and neighbouring Communities.

UEW Hosts 2023 IUCDS Seminar

The Inter-University Conference for Doctoral Studies (IUCDS), in collaboration with the School of Graduate Studies (SGS), University of Education Winneba (UEW), has organised a three-day seminar at the Jophus Anamuah-Mensah Conference Centre, North Campus, UEW.  

The seminar, which took place from Tuesday, 17th, to Thursday, 19th January, 2023, was held on the theme "Promoting Staff Development Through Collaborative Research and Quality Teaching in Education."

Music Scholars Entreated to Prioritise Honing Their Skills

A music theorist, Emeritus Prof. Kofi Agawu has urged lecturers and students of music to prioritise developing their skills as musicians to increase their reputation in the musical arts.

Emer. Prof. Agawu said this at a day’s seminar organised by the Department of Music Education, University of Education, Winneba at the School of Creative Arts (SCA) Conference Room, Central Campus. The seminar was held under the theme “Creating Dynamic Intellectual Connections Towards Collaborative Research in the Musical Arts”.

UEW Ranked Ghana's Most Sustainable University in 2022

The University of Education, Winneba (UEW) has been adjudged the most sustainable university in Ghana and the 986th most sustainable university in the world by the University of Indonesia (UI) GreenMetric World University Rankings for the year 2022.

The ranking is broken down into six categories: environment and infrastructure, energy and climate change, waste, water, transportation, and education, each with its own set of weighted indicators.

UEW Coach Appointed Assistant National Technical Director of Ghana Blind Sports

Coach Eric Ayine Aloko, head coach of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) goalball team, has been appointed as the Assistant National Technical Director of the Ghana Blind Sports Association. The appointment has been confirmed by the National Sports Council.

Coach Aloko won gold medals in goalball for UEW at the 2020 and 2022 Ghana University Sports Association (GUSA) games held at the University of Ghana, Legon, and the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, respectively.

UEW Student Adjudged Overall Winner of GESS Awards

A Master of Philosophy (MPhil) in Art Education student, Mr. Ebenezer Kojo Otoo of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW), has been adjudged the ultimate winner of an international award organised by the Global Educational Supplies and Solutions (GESS) in collaboration with the United Arab Emirates Ministry of Education.

Mr. Otoo emerged the overall winner of the prestigious "Lifetime Achievement Award" at a ceremony held in Dubai.
