UEW Scholars Win VREF Grant to Train Emerging Scholars in Africa
A five-member team of researchers from the University of Education, Winneba (UEW), has won a grant award of €18,000.00 from Volvo Research and Educational Foundations (VREF) to roll out, for the second time, a course on "The State-of-the-Art in Scientific Writing and Publication" at the UEW.

The 34-year-old deafblind young woman from Breman-Asikuma in the Central Region lived her life as a normal child until age seven when a strange illness led to her admission at the Korle-Bu teaching hospital. Upon recovery however, the young girl lost her hearing and visual ability and her speech to a large extent.
UEW Ranked 2nd Best Communications and Public Relations University in Ghana
The University of Education, Winneba (UEW) is Ghana's second-best communications and public relations university, according to EduRank, an independent metric-based rating organisation, in their 2023 ranking.
The university was pipped to the top spot by the University of Ghana, Legon. Additionally, UEW placed 20th in Africa and 717th in the world. Check Africa's best Communications and Public Relations universities [Rankings] (edurank.org)
H. E. Akufo-Addo Charges UEW to Continue Producing Resourceful Graduates
The President of Ghana, His Excellency (H. E.) Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has charged the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) to continue producing graduates who are ready to take on opportunities and prospects for higher achievements.
He said that doing this through innovation and creativity in today’s science-technology-led and knowledge-driven global economy would help generate prosperity for the masses.
