Department of Management Sciences Builds Capacity of Staff
The academic staff of the Department of Management Sciences have undergone a workshop to sharpen their research skills in qualitative research techniques.
A lecturer of the Department, Dr. Phillip Siaw Kissi, facilitated the workshop.
Opening the workshop, the Head, Department Management Sciences, Dr. Isaac Brako, called on the staff of the Department to prepare for more of such workshops to rekindle and sharpen their skills in teaching, research supervision, and publications.
Department of Home Economics Education now a Faculty
The erstwhile Department of Home Economics Education under the Faculty of Science Education has now grown into a Faculty on its own.
The new Faculty has four departments namely the Departments of Integrated Home Economics Education, Clothing and Textiles Education, Food and Nutrition Education, and Family Life Management Education.
Geography Lecturers Undergo Three-day GIS Training Workshop
Lecturers in the Department of Geography Education have undergone a three-day Geographic Information Systems (GIS) training workshop at the GIS Laboratory, North Campus, Winneba. The training workshop took place from Monday, 9th to Wednesday, 11th November, 2020.
UEW Graduate Heeds to the call to Create own Business
Graduates of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) are giving expression to the call by Management of the University in recent times to dare to create and build their own business, even if in small and humble ways.
One such is Mr. Nicholas Cudjoe. Mr. Nicholas Cudjoe pursued a degree programme in Graphic Design and graduated in 2018 with Second-Class Upper Division honours. He is currently the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Nikhana Media.
UEW Alumnus Excelling at Entrepreneurship
An alumnus of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW), Mr. Ernest Osei Bonsu is making great exploits at entrepreneurship shortly after attaining his first degree.
Mr. Bonsu studied Home Economics Education with specialisation in Professional Techniques in Clothing Construction. He graduated from the UEW this year (2020) with Second Class Upper Division honours and now holds a Bachelor of Science Degree.
Rev. Dr. Ewoodzie Donates to the Faculty of Science Education
A Methodist minister and philanthropist from Farmingdale United Methodists Church in New York, USA, Rev. Dr. Joseph Ewoodzie has donated 50 pieces of Dext Science Kits to the Faculty of Science Education, University of Education, Winneba.
Kingdom Books to Complete Construction of Purpose-built UEW Bookstore
The Director, Works and Physical Development, University of Education, Winneba (UEW), Arc. Grace Oppong-Peprah has hinted that Kingdom Books and Stationery Limited (KBSL) would complete the construction of a purpose-built UEW bookstore latest by 23rd November, 2020.
Arc. Oppong-Peprah indicated that the contractor was on track to complete the project on time. She, therefore, expressed assurance that it would be completed and also be ready for use latest by 23rd November.
15 Retire from Kumasi Campus of UEW
The Management of the College of Technology Education (COLTEK), University of Education, Winneba (UEW), on Friday, 25th September, 2020, treated 15 workers to a farewell party ahead of their retirement from the service of the University, on 30th September, 2020.
The retirees, comprised five Senior Members, three Senior Staff, and seven Junior Staff. Each of whom was given a package worth more than GH₵ 6,000.00, a citation in recognition of their respective contributions to the University’s development, and a certificate of honour.

Management of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) has expressed their enthusiasm to partner, Casa de Ropa Ghana Limited, a Ghanaian limited liability company at Gomoa Bewadze, near Winneba to strengthen the industry-academia relationship.
Casa de Ropa with a 300-acre potato processing factory focuses on farming, food processing, and consultancy to improve production knowledge and technology, value addition, and marketing innovations to the benefit of all actors in the value chain.
Dr. Anthony Musah Donates to CoLANGE
A Lecturer at the Department of Gur-Gonja Education, Dr. Anthony Agoswin Musah has donated a set of ICT equipment to the College of Languages Education (CoLANGE), Ajumako Campus of the University of Education, Winneba.
This adds to an earlier collection of books he donated to the College when he assumed duty in 2018. The items donated include an HP Laptop, HP colour printer, Lenova Desktop Computer, two-computer hard drives, and other peripheries.
