ODSA Organises Capacity Building Workshop for Newly Elected Student Leaders

The Office of Dean of Student Affairs (ODSA), has organised a three-day leadership training workshop under the theme, “The Student Leader as Part of University Management: Responsibilities and Cautions”, for newly elected student leaders.

The workshop took place at the Royal Lee’s Hotel, Tutu-Akuapim in the Eastern region of Ghana.

UEW Nurturing Affiliate Institutions Through Co-Partnership – Vice-Chancellor

The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW), Rev. Fr. Prof. Anthony Afful-Broni, has iterated Management’s belief in the relationship of mutual respect and co-participation by which it has grown its affiliate institutions over the years to shape the human capital of the country.

He said that the duality that undergirds the engagements, activities and actions with affiliate institutions rather than a master-servant relationship, has ensured co-construction and learning from each other’s experiences to grow and create value to their respective mandates.

Ga-Dangme Action Caucus Donates to COLANG

The Department of Ga-Dangme Education of the College of Languages Education (COLANG), Ajumako Campus, University of Education, Winneba (UEW), on Thursday, 18th March, 2021, received a donation of assorted items and cash from the Ga-Dangme Action Caucus during a visit to the College. 

The delegation was represented by the Ga Queen mother of La, Naa Ju Yoo Tsofayelor; Ga Queen mother of Mayera, Naa Densua Afriyie; and Mr. Ladi Nylander. 

HPERS Postgraduate Students Educated on Winning Research Grant Proposal Writing

Postgraduate students in the Department of Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Sports (HPERS) have undergone a day’s seminar on the topic: “the postgraduate journey and how to write a winning proposal for research grant”.

The workshop, which took place on Tuesday, 16th March, 2021, at the National Sports College Conference Room and HPERS Library, sought to capacitate attendees to appreciate the elements to consider before, during, and after postgraduate education; share experiences on postgraduate education and; understand and write an acceptable project proposal.    

Joint Handing-over Ceremony held for 2021 SRC-NUGS Leadership

The University of Education, Winneba (UEW), Chapters of the Students’ Representative Council (SRC) and the National Union of Ghana Students (NUGS-UEW) Leadership for the 2021 academic year have been sworn into office.

The joint ceremony was held on Sunday, 14th March, 2021, at the Jophus Anamauh-Mensah Conference Centre, North Campus, Winneba. 

In his address on the state of SRC, the outgone president, Mr. Emmanuel Oduro Fosu, recounted the achievements his administration had chalked amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

EPUC Leadership Calls on UEW Management to Improve upon Existing Relationship

A three-member delegation from the Evangelical Presbyterian University College (EPUC), has paid a courtesy call on Management of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW), on Wednesday, 10th March, 2021, at Council Chamber, North Campus, UEW.  

The visit was to formally introduce the new leadership of EPUC to the Management of UEW and also to explore how best both institutions could improve upon the existing relationship.
