The Department of Agricultural Science Education Supports Green Ghana Initiative

The Department of Agricultural Science Education, University of Education, Winneba (UEW), has thrown its weight behind the Green Ghana Initiative in a tree planting exercise carried out on 13th July, 2022.

The Department supported the Green Ghana project, which seeks to plant trees to lower the atmospheric carbon concentrations that fuel climate change. The effort also aims to preserve the ecological balance that exists naturally on Earth so that all living things can live and flourish in their natural habitat.

UEW Eases into Semi-Finals of Tertiary Business Challenge Version 4.0

The University of Education, Winneba (UEW), made light work of the Dominion University College to book a ticket to the national semi-finals of the Tertiary Business Sense Challenge Version 4.0.

Team UEW amassed a total of 76 points against the 11 points garnered by Dominion University College at the end of the competition. The University of Education Winneba team comprised Marcus Tetteh Obuadey, Rebecca Baah, and James Nana Ofori.

UEW Holds Matriculation for 10,136 CODeL Students

The University of Education, Winneba (UEW) has held a virtual matriculation ceremony for 10,136 College for Distance and e-Learning (CODeL) fresh students for the 2021/2022 academic year. 

The ceremony was held at the Johpus Anamuah-Mensah Conference Centre, North Campus, Winneba on Saturday, July 16, 2022. It was attended in person by fresh students from the Winneba Study Centre and virtually by students from the 41 other study centres.

2022 Retirees Undergo Workshop

The Division of Human Resource (DHR), in collaboration with the 2022 Retiree Send-off Planning Committee of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW), has organised a two-day workshop for staff retiring from the service of the University in September. The workshop took place at the Registrar’s Conference Room, North Campus, from Wednesday, 6th July, 2022, to Thursday, 7th July, 2022.   

UEW to Establish a Campus at Atekyedo – Finance Officer

The Head of Finance, University of Education, Winneba (UEW), Dr. Theophilus Senyo Ackorlie, has announced the university's intention to replace its former campuses in Kumasi and Mampong with a full-fledged campus at Atekyedo, a suburb of Winneba.

According to him, the new campus would feature all the facilities of a university, such as accommodation for the students, lecture halls, offices, faculties or schools, a principal, college registrar among others. 

21st USAG Congress: EOCO Boss Entreats Student Leaders to Fight Corruption

The Executive Director of the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO), Commissioner of Police (COP) Maame Yaa Tiwaa Addo-Danquah, has implored student leaders to rigorously give their fair share to the effort to combat corruption in the country.

COP Addo-Danquah was speaking on the theme “Eradicating Corruption: The University Students’ Role” at the opening ceremony of the University Students Association of Ghana’s (USAG) 21st Annual Congress held on Friday, 1st July, 2022, at the Jophus Anamuah-Mensah Conference Centre, North Campus, University of Education, Winneba (UEW).
