CAS-UEW Celebrates Maiden Departmental Week, Eyes Future Growth

The Centre for African Studies (CAS) at the University of Education, Winneba (UEW), has marked a historic milestone by celebrating its maiden Departmental Week, underscoring its commitment to fostering educational growth and cultural pride.

The weeklong event at the North Campus of UEW centred around the theme “Promoting Life-Long Learning for Africa’s Development,” featured a vibrant showcase of indigenous Ghanaian culture.

UEW Chaplaincy Hosts Second Interdenominational Service for 2023/2024 Academic Year

The University of Education, Winneba (UEW) Chaplaincy Committee has held its second Interdenominational and Thanksgiving Service for the second semester of the 2023/2024 academic year.

The event brought together students, faculty, and various Christian denominations in a powerful display of unity and worship. This took place at the Jophus Anamuah-Mensah Conference Centre under the theme "Walking in God's Power" on Sunday, 18th August, 2024.

Students of Likpakpaanl Interact with Visiting Members of the Likpakpaanl Speaking Community

On Wednesday, March 6, 2024, students of the newly rolled out Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Likpakpaanl Education programme at the Ajumako Campus of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) were privileged to receive a maiden visit by a section of members of the Likpakpaanl (Konkomba) speaking community. The occasion also served as a productive interactive forum between the visiting team and the students.

SCA-UEW, German NGO Empower Weavers & Students with Handloom Project

The School of Creative Arts (SCA) at the University of Education, Winneba (UEW), in a bid to foster economic empowerment and skill development, has embarked on an initiative in collaboration with a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) from Germany aimed to revolutionise handloom production.

The project will benefit both students studying fashion and textiles at UEW and professional weavers within the Effutu community.
