Department of Physics Education Discusses Myths in Physics

The Department of Physics Education, University of Education, Winneba (UEW), has held a day’s workshop for over 50 Senior High School (SHS) physics tutors in the Central Region under the theme "Innovative Teaching Strategies and Addressing Misconceptions in Physics".

The workshop, held on Wednesday, 12th July, 2023, at the Lecture Theatre 8, South Campus, UEW, provided participants with valuable insights and practical knowledge on innovative teaching strategies to address misconceptions in Physics.

UEW Lecturers School SHS Physics Teachers on Effective Teaching Strategies

Fifty physics tutors from senior high schools (SHS) in the Central Region have attended a workshop on effective ways of teaching the subject.

The workshop was organised by the Department of Physics Education of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) on the theme, "Innovative teaching strategies to address students’ misconception in Physics", last Wednesday.

UEW Signs MoU with AICPA & CIMA to Professionalise Student Training

The University of Education, Winneba School of Business (UEW-SoB), has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Association of International Certified Professional Accountants, and the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (AICPA & CIMA), to equip students and alumni with workplace-ready skills.

The MoU will require both institutions to offer a remote, digital self-paced learning programme, namely the CGMA® Finance Leadership Programme.

Dr. Ophelia Ohenewa Mefful: Tale of Determination, Triumph

Dr. Ophelia Ohenewa Mefful, an example of resilience and hard work, stands as a testament to both human determination and divine providence.

Despite encountering numerous obstacles throughout her life, she managed to surmount them and recently graduated from the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) with a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Fashion. 

Dr. Mefful currently serves as a lecturer at the Takoradi Technical University, where she continues to inspire others with her journey.

Honey Moon Hotel | A stage performance by the Department of Theatre Arts

The Department of Theatre Arts, University of Education Winneba is performing a play titled Honey Moon Hotel in which the love adventure of two friends coincidentally hits back at them on their honeymoon. The solution to the puzzle therein, lies in love arbitrations at the honeymoon hotel.

The play is written by Stephen Yaw Oppong and performed by Acting Class 2023. The production is scheduled to take off as follows:
