Christmas and New Year Break Notice

The University of Education, Winneba wishes to inform all staff, students, and stakeholders that the official Christmas and New Year break will commence on Monday, 22nd December 2025, and end on Friday, 2nd January 2026. Regular academic and administrative work will resume on Monday, 5th January 2026.

Departments and units critical to core operations — including Grounds and Gardens, Environmental Health and Sanitation, Halls, Transport, Security, Maintenance (Electricians), ICT, and the University Hospital — are expected to maintain essential services throughout the break. Respective heads are to submit holiday duty rosters to the Division of Operations by Thursday, 18th December 2025.

Hall Managers are also reminded to ensure staff presence in preparation for the arrival of students on Saturday, 3rd January 2026, ahead of the reopening.

Staff engaged during the break for sandwich programmes or other essential services will have those days deducted from their annual leave entitlements.

The University extends warm wishes to all for a Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year.
