Audio/Visual Communication Unit
The Audio/Visual Communication Unit provides high-quality audio and visual solutions, and services to support complex events across the University. The Unit essentially deals with troubleshooting technical issues, finding technological solutions that impact and promote the corporate goals of the University, collaborating with other sections of the university to set up public address systems for presentations, and providing support for complex events.
The functions of the Unit are:
- Manage technical services during University events such as congregations, matriculations, and inaugural and public lectures among others.
- Plans and organises audio/visual support for conferences, workshops, seminars, and lectures by assigning staff
- Produce high-quality photos, videos and documentaries for publications, university's website and social media platforms.
- Ensure video, audio and multimedia live streaming of university events over the internet, as well as help, deliver lectures to a global audience on the web as and when sanctioned by the appropriate authority
- Give advice and guidance on recording audio or video
- Facilitate loans of audio/visual equipment and can offer filming and editing services for faculty and related activities
- Device strategies and guidelines to encourage the University's students to enable them to produce appropriate videos, audio, and documentaries for the University's website and social media platforms
- Oversee day-to-day activities such as setting up, installing, and troubleshooting of breakdown of audio/visual equipment including cameras, microphones, projectors, and monitors
- Ensure proper archiving of university history/heritage in an audio and visual format for immediate and future reference
- Design specialised and technical audio/visual systems in response to faculty, staff, and students requirement
- Develop high-quality concepts for radio, TV, and online promotions and placements
- Turn hard facts or information into attention-grabbing, readable, and pictorial contents
