Mission

To produce competent environmental health and sanitation professionals who have a good understanding of scientific principles, practical skills, and commitment to sustainable practices

Vision

Our commitment is rooted in the belief that a clean and healthy environment is fundamental to the overall well-being of individuals and the prosperity of society.  The department envisions being at the forefront for the training of environmental health and sanitation education professionals nationally and within the sub-region to drive positive change through evidence-based practices, advocacy, and the development of informed and responsible citizens.

Our goal is to provide:

  • Holistic education through comprehensive curriculum that combines theoretical knowledge with hands-on experience and industrial exposure
  • Emphasize applied learning through fieldwork, internships, and real-world project
  •  Encourage a culture of innovation, creativity and problem solving that advance the field of environmental health and sanitation.
  • Cultivate a sense of responsibility and engagement with local communities through regular community visits
  • Instill a global mindset by incorporating international perspectives and promoting awareness of global environmental health issues
