Biography
Matthew B. Kursah (PhD) is a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Geography Education, University of Education, Winneba (UEW). He holds a PhD in Remote Sensing and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) from the School of Resources and Environment, University of Electronic Science and Technology of China (UESTC), Chengdu, China. He acquired two Master’s Degrees in Spatial Planning and Environmental Engineering and Sustainable Infrastructure at Kungliga Tekniska Högskolan (KTH), Stockholm, Sweden and a Bachelor’s Degree in Geography and Resource Development at the University of Ghana, Legon. He has a Post Graduate Diploma in Learning and Teaching in Higher Education (PGDLTH) from the University of Education, Winneba (UEW), Ghana. His research focuses on Remote Sensing and GIS applications and modelling, geospatial analysis, spatial planning and environmental management. He has published over 20 peer-reviewed papers and book chapters in these areas.
Matthew is a member of the Ghana Geographers Association, Ghana Association of Geomorphologists (GAG) and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) - IEEE Geosciences and Remote Sensing Society. Some of the journals he currently reviews are Remote Sensing of Environment (Impact Factor: 13.85), GIScience & Remote Sensing (Impact Factor: 6.7), Environmental Science and Pollution Research (Impact Factor: 5.8), Scientific Reports (Impact Factor: 4.9), International Journal of Applied Geospatial Research (Impact Factor: 0.5) and Environmental Monitoring and Assessment (Impact Factor: 3.1). He is a Geocaching enthusiast.
