GAUA-UEW Holds Continuous Professional Development Seminar
The Ghana Association of University Administrators (GAUA), University of Education, Winneba (UEW) Branch, has organised a one-day Continuous Professional Development (CPD) programme at the Jophus Anamuah Mensah Conference Center to guide administrators and deepen their knowledge in their area of expertise.
Welcoming participants, UEW-GAUA President, Dr. Beth Offei-Awuku (Mrs.), disclosed that the CPD workshop was to strengthen capacity and engage stakeholders to sharpen their skills for effective output as Administrators in the University to reach the ultimate aim of impacting positively the institution.
The Dean of the School of Business, UEW, Prof. Awaisu Imurana Braimah, delivered a presentation on the topic, “Basics in Policy Position Paper Writing for University Administrators”. He took participants through types of policy position papers and gave some insightful guidelines in writing policy position papers. He entreated participants to persevere, keep putting more effort into their work to develop themselves professionally to impact the institution.
Dr. Johnson Kwaku Edu, Lecturer and Production Coordinator at the Department of Theatre Arts also made a presentation on “Customer Service: making an impact with talents for University Administration”. He highlighted temperaments, talents and how to identify talents at workplaces as well as use them to the advantage of Administrators to ensure positive outcomes.
