Rev. Dr. Affran, Samuel
Biography
Rev. Dr. Samuel Affran is a distinguished academic, researcher, and educational leader currently serving as Senior Lecturer and Head of the Department of Marketing and Entrepreneurship at the University of Education, Winneba (UEW), Ghana. He is also an Adjunct Senior Lecturer at the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA), where he teaches research methods at the postgraduate level. With extensive experience in higher education, Dr. Affran has taught and supervised students across undergraduate, MBA, MPhil, and doctoral programmes, contributing significantly to the advancement of marketing and entrepreneurship education in Ghana.
Dr. Affran holds a PhD in Marketing Management from the Livingstone International University of Tourism Excellence and Business Management in Zambia and is currently pursuing a PhD in Business Administration (Entrepreneurship option) at the University of Cape Coast. His academic training also includes an MPhil in Business Administration (Marketing) from the University of Ghana Business School and a Postgraduate Diploma in Teaching and Learning in Higher Education from the University of Education, Winneba.
A prolific scholar, Dr. Affran’s research focuses on strategic relationship marketing, sustainability marketing, entrepreneurship and innovation, service design and delivery, digital transformation, and customer engagement in emerging economies. His work has been widely published in reputable international journals, and he regularly presents at international conferences on business management, entrepreneurship, and sustainable development. His research increasingly explores the intersection between marketing innovation, sustainability, and digital transformation in African markets.
Beyond research and teaching, Dr. Affran plays an active role in academic leadership, curriculum development, and institutional governance. He has served on numerous university committees and strategic teams, including curriculum development boards, quality assurance committees, and graduate programme committees. He has also contributed to national educational initiatives, participating in monitoring and evaluation exercises organized by agencies such as the National Council for Curriculum and Assessment (NaCCA), the West African Examinations Council (WAEC), and the Ghana Education Service (GES).
Dr. Affran is an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM), UK and Ghana, and a Member of the Institute of Monitoring and Evaluation Practitioners Ghana (IMEP). He also serves as a reviewer for international journals, contributing to the global academic community through peer review and scholarly engagement.
