Biography
Dr. Prince Owusu Adoma is a health promotion scholar and a Senior Lecturer with extensive experience in community health promotion, public health research, and academic leadership. He holds a PhD in Health Promotion (Community Health Promotion) from the University of Cape Coast (UCC), where he was honoured with the Dean’s Award of Excellence in 2020 for producing the best doctoral thesis. He also holds a Mphils and Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree from the same institution, in addition to PGDTLHE from University of Education Winneba, Ghana.
With over a decade of professional experience across academia, research, and consultancy, Dr. Adoma has made significant contributions to teaching, community health promotion, and public health advocacy. His scholarly work focuses on advancing health promotion strategies that improve population health outcomes and address social and structural inequalities affecting vulnerable populations.
Dr. Adoma has been involved in several research and development initiatives, secured competitive grants, and published peer-reviewed scholarly works. He has also served as a consultant, board chair, and resource person for professional training and institutional capacity-building programmes.
Prior to his appointment at the University of Education, Winneba (UEW), he served as a Lecturer at the University of Health and Allied Sciences (UHAS) and as a Health Tutor at the Community Health Nurses’ Training College in Tanoso and the Seikwa Nursing and Midwifery Training College in the Bono Region. He also served as an Adjunct Lecturer at various universities, including Catholic University of Ghana, Fiapre (CUCG), CAAF University, Accra, University of Port Harcourt, Nigeria and others.
Dr. Adoma teaches both undergraduate and postgraduate courses in health promotion, adolescent health, sexual and reproductive health, health law and ethics, and disease prevention strategies. In addition to his academic work, he has provided research and policy consultancy through Inspired Technology Consult since 2014 and later established Decisive Business Solution, a firm specializing in research consultancy, medical logistics supply, and health research services.
