The University of Education, Winneba (UEW) continues to expand its global academic presence with Prof. Dr. Dandy George Dampson, Professor of Educational Administration and Management, invited by the University of Passau, Germany, to participate in an international teaching exchange programme.

The one-month appointment, which commenced on 6th June, 2026, is being undertaken under the Memorandum of Understanding between UEW and the University of Passau and forms part of the Global Semester 2026, a DAAD-funded initiative to promote international perspectives in teacher education.

As a Guest Lecturer, Prof. Dampson will engage international undergraduate student-teachers through seminars and workshops centred on the theme, “Schooling in the Age of Uncertainty.” His presentations will draw on extensive experience in educational leadership and management, highlighting adaptive leadership practices in resource-constrained environments, promotion of safe and inclusive learning spaces and culturally responsive approaches to teaching and learning.

The appointment offers a unique platform for Ghanaian educational experiences and perspectives to contribute to global discussions on contemporary challenges in teacher education. It also reflects UEW’s growing influence in international academic circles and its commitment to preparing educators for an increasingly interconnected world.

Prof. Dampson has also been invited to serve as a Keynote Speaker at the Global Semester Summer School scheduled from 29th June to 13th July, 2026. The event will bring together students, researchers and educators from around the world to explore innovative strategies for preparing teachers to work effectively in diverse and transnational educational settings.

Beyond his teaching engagements, Prof. Dampson will hold discussions with faculty members and administrators at the University of Passau to explore new avenues for collaboration. These engagements are expected to strengthen research partnerships, particularly in the areas of Diversity Research and Middle Childhood Education while creating opportunities for future academic exchanges between the two institutions.

The exchange exemplifies UEW’s strategic commitment to internationalisation, research collaboration and academic excellence. It also reinforces the University's vision of positioning itself as a leading institution in teacher education through meaningful global partnerships and knowledge exchange.
