Dr Appiah-Adjei, Gifty (PhD)
Biography
Gifty Appiah-Adjei (PhD) is a Senior Lecturer and the current Ag. Head of the Department of Journalism and Media Studies in the School of Communication and Media Studies at the University of Education, Winneba. She has served as the Graduate Co-ordinator for the School of Communication and Media Studies (2020-2021) and the Examinations Officer of the Department of Communication and Media Studies (2019-2020). She has been serving as the Co-chair of the working group of Africa for Journalism Safety Research Network since April 2023. She holds a PhD in Applied Communication from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria (2018). Also, she has a postgraduate degree in Communication and Media Studies (University of Education, Winneba). She has supervised fourteen MPhil theses and seven MA theses. She has attended conferences and presented papers in Accra (Ghana), Paris (France), Oslo (Norway), Moscow (Russia), Oklahoma (USA), Sheffield (UK) and Sydney (Australia). She has thirteen publications comprising journal articles, book chapters, and a book to her credit.
