Food Production Unit

The Department has units that provide nutritious meals to staff and students at three different locations on the University campus. The Food Production Unit also caters for all events in and outside the University campus, including large-scale production of fresh yoghurt. These offer training grounds for our Food and Nutrition students to learn on the job.

Radio programme

The Department of Food and Nutrition has a slot at the university campus radio (Radio Windy Bay, 98.3 FM). The programme is called Diet Dairy.  The session hosts lecturers from the department. The programme discusses nutrition-related issues and provides food therapies every Wednesday and Friday at 12:30 pm. Plans are underway to improve the radio programme by preparing healthy but simple recipes that can be streamed live on all social media handles.
