Biography
Prof. Delali Kwasi Dake is an Associate Professor of Computing and Information Technology and Head of the Department of ICT Education at the University of Education, Winneba (UEW), Ghana. Formerly a Computer Science Lecturer at Lancaster University, he became an Associate Professor in January 2024 at age 36, making him one of Ghana’s youngest academics to attain this rank. He holds a PhD in Computer Engineering from KNUST and is the Founder and CEO of Jobweb Africa, a leading job-portal platform operating across eight African countries.
As Head of Department, Prof. Dake has advanced digital innovation through partnerships with Google, AyaHQ, eTranzact, ICP Ghana, LearnWay, and SUI, leading technology summits and student-industry collaborations. He represented UEW at the Africa Premier AI Conference 2025 in Mombasa, Kenya, and presented in Dubai, UAE, at ICCDTA 2025 on AI-driven employability models for Sub-Saharan Africa.
He serves as an External Examiner / Assessor for KNUST, UPSA, BlueCrest University, Heritage Christian University, and the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC). A seasoned reviewer, he contributes to Scientific Reports, Education and Information Technologies, Cluster Computing, PeerJ Computer Science, and other 16 Scopus-indexed journals. He is an active member of the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM), contributing to scholarly initiatives within the global computing community.
Beyond academia, Prof. Dake serves on the Academic Advisory Council of Mogaland Academy, representing Africa and Ghana; the Board Chair of Innville Foundation, promoting innovation and youth entrepreneurship; and the Board of Turbines IT Company, advancing ICT and digital skills development.
He has delivered keynote and invited talks at major global summits, including the Africa Fintech Summit, Digital Asset Summit, Ghana Youth Tech Summit, TeProD, Ghana Data Science Summit, the 6th Biennial AI Conference in Abuja, and many more.
As a member of ACM Working Group 5, he contributed to a Global South–focused ethical framework for AI in higher education, presented at the ACM Computing Conference (Gaborone, 2025), and serves as a 2025 mentor with Black in AI Safety and Ethics (BASE) fellowship.
He serves as a Partnership Coordinator with the Ghana AI Research Network (GAIN) and is a member of the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM), the ACM Special Interest Group on Computer Science Education (SIGCSE), and the Informing Science Institute (ISI).
His research spans ICTs, Data Mining, Artificial Intelligence, AI Ethics and Governance, Reinforcement Learning, Intelligent Systems, and Blockchain.
