Biography
Prof. Benjamin Ghansah is an Associate Professor of Computer Science and ICT Education at the Department of ICT Education, University of Education, Winneba. He holds a PhD in Computer Science, an MSc in Computer Science, an MA in Environmental Management and Policy, and a BSc in Computer Science. With over 17 years of experience in teaching, research, and academic leadership, he has made significant contributions to the advancement of ICT education and interdisciplinary research.
He currently serves as the Vice Dean of the Faculty of Science Education, following his tenure as the founding Head of Department for Agric Science Education, Environmental Health and Sanitation, and Environmental Science at the University of Education, Winneba. Prior to this, he held several senior academic and administrative positions at Data Link Institute of Business and Technology, including Vice President, Academic Dean, Head of the Department of Computer Science, and Faculty Officer.
Prof. Ghansah has extensive international teaching experience, having served as an adjunct lecturer at leading institutions such as Jiangsu University, Sikkim Manipal University, University of Ghana, Valley View University, Central University, Ghana Communication Technology University, and BlueCrest University College.
In addition to his teaching and research roles, he serves as an academic assessor for several universities, including the University of Malta, Accra Technical University, University of Cape Coast, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, and other higher education institutions. He is also an assessment specialist for Oxford, Cambridge, and RSA and the International Baccalaureate, as well as an assessor for the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission.
Prof. Ghansah is actively involved in several international research and capacity-building initiatives, including the TRUCE project, Educase Project, the Erasmus+ GOT Project, and the Studiosity Ethical AI Project. His research interests span federated search, information retrieval, information security, machine learning, and higher education management. He has authored over 70 peer-reviewed journal publications and serves as a reviewer for several reputable international journals.
