Frank Afari holds a PhD in International History and Politics from the Geneva Graduate Institute. He lectures in the Department of History at the University of Education, Winneba, Ghana. Between October 2018 and June 2019, he was a Sylff Research Abroad (SRA) fellow at Northwestern University’s Buffett Institute for Global Affairs (Evanston, Illinois, USA) under the partnership between the Geneva Graduate Institute and Northwestern University. His primary research fields are transitional justice, political violence, human rights, constitutionalism, transitions to democracy, the politics of archives, and the practices of memory. His research has been published in the International Journal of Transitional Justice, Global Challenges, and History in Africa.
