History and Background
The College for Distance and e-Learning (CODeL) of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) was instituted in 2019 following the advancement of the Institute for Distance and e-Learning (IDeL). This institutional transformation marked a strategic response to the growing demand for flexible, technology-mediated higher education and reaffirmation of UEW's commitment to expanding eligibility to quality teacher education and lifelong learning through distance and e-learning modalities.
The enhancement from IEDE to IDeL and subsequently to CODeL reflects a calculated and progressive institutional effort to strengthen governance, quality assurance, programme delivery and innovation in distance education.
