UEW Scholar Selected for Microsoft AI Faculty Programme
Prof. Delali Kwasi Dake, Head of the Department of ICT Education at the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) has been selected to participate in the Microsoft Africa Development Centre (ADC) Faculty AI Skilling and Immersion Programme.
The programme, an initiative of Microsoft, seeks to strengthen Artificial Intelligence (AI) capacity within African higher education institutions. It focuses on equipping faculty with practical AI competencies and supporting the responsible integration of AI into teaching, research and innovation.
The eight-week programme will involve instructor-led sessions, hands-on laboratory training, and mentorship from Microsoft engineers. Participants will also work towards globally recognised certifications including the Microsoft Certified Educator (MCE) and Microsoft Azure AI certification.
Prof. Dake’s selection reflects the University of Education, Winneba’s commitment to advancing digital innovation and integrating emerging technologies into its academic and research activities.
Upon completion, Prof. Dake is expected to contribute to the integration of Artificial Intelligence into teaching, research and academic practice at UEW as well as support broader AI capacity development within the University and across Ghana’s higher education sector.
This development marks yet another step in UEW’s efforts to establish itself as a centre for technology-enabled education and research, aligning with global trends transforming the future of teaching and learning.
