Prof. Delali Kwasi Dake of the Department of Information and Communication Technology Education of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) has been selected as Ghana’s sole representative for the prestigious AI Compute Faculty Development Initiative (Second Cohort).

The fully funded training, jointly organised by the Beijing Academy of Artificial Intelligence (BAAI), the African Union (AU), the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and Peking University, is taking place in Beijing, China. It is designed to equip global faculty with advanced expertise in AI computing, research and teaching.

In addition to advanced faculty development, the initiative delivers a vital institutional asset by granting UEW access to FlagOS. This platform provides a virtual AI computing laboratory, allowing students and faculty to run advanced AI simulations and develop practical technological solutions.

This cloud-based platform will empower UEW to scale up its tech-driven research and practical learning opportunities without spending heavily on expensive physical computing infrastructure.

Prof. Dake's participation directly advances UEW's digital transformation agenda, positioning the university as a forward-looking leader in AI education and cross-disciplinary innovation within the region.
