The University of Education, Winneba (UEW) has participated in international higher education collaboration at the Fourth Project Meeting of the Erasmus+ TeProD Project held from Monday, 1st to Friday, 5th June 2026, at the Faculty of Economics of the Technical University of Košice in Košice, Slovakia.

The UEW delegation, comprising Prof. Ruby Hanson, Dr. Richard Osei Agjei (Project Coordinator) and Dr. Bright Ankudze, joined international partners under the Erasmus+ Capacity Building in Higher Education project, Improving Teachers' and Students' Professional Development with Twin Transition in Sub-Saharan Africa (TeProD), to review project progress, strengthen institutional capacity and deepen Europe–Africa research collaboration.

A major highlight of the meeting was UEW’s leadership in the project with Dr. Agjei leading the Work Package 4 review session and the consortium’s reflection on the project meeting previously hosted in Winneba. The delegation also benefited from presentations on green transition and labour market developments in Ghana and Namibia which are expected to inform curriculum development and skills training initiatives at UEW.

The team participated in a hands-on workshop on microcredentials organised by ASTRA Slovakia. This helped them to gain insight into practical frameworks for developing industry-aligned continuous professional development programmes. They also visited the TECHNICOM Innovation Zone and the PERUN Supercomputer facility, providing valuable insights into digital infrastructure and innovation ecosystems that support research-intensive education.

Additionally, UEW strengthened its competencies in European Union grant administration through specialised financial and narrative reporting sessions led by personnel from Hamburg University of Applied Sciences. The meeting further expanded the University's international research networks and exposed the delegation to successful regional development and innovation models within Slovakia.

Reflecting on the experience, Dr. Agjei described leading the project review before European and African partners as a proud moment. He noted that the green transition data for Ghana would directly influence the design of future training modules. He affirmed the University's commitment to ensuring that the TeProD Project delivers meaningful impact for teachers across Sub-Saharan Africa.

The participation reinforces UEW’s growing profile and commitment to advancing innovation, professional development and transformative education through strategic global partnerships.
