The Ghana Geographers Association invites scholars, researchers, policymakers, development practitioners, students, and industry professionals to submit abstracts for the 2026 GGA Annual Conference.

Theme

Africa in Transition: Climate Change, Urban Growth and the Quest for Healthy and Sustainable Living

As Africa continues to experience rapid urbanisation, climate variability, demographic shifts, and environmental pressures, the continent faces both emerging opportunities and complex sustainability challenges. The conference seeks to provide a multidisciplinary platform for critical discussions on climate resilience, sustainable urban development, environmental governance, geospatial technologies, public health, and inclusive policy responses shaping Africa’s future.

The conference will bring together experts from academia, government, civil society, and development institutions to examine pathways toward resilient, healthy, and sustainable communities across the continent.

  • Notification of Acceptance: On a rolling basis
  • Publication Opportunity: Accepted abstracts will be published in the Conference Book of Abstracts
