Neighbourhood Academic Initiative Programme
NAIP nurtures the interest and abilities of young learners in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics during the early stages of their education, working with basic schools within the Effutu and Ajumako Educational Directorates.
- Academic support and enrichment activities for basic school learners.
- Particular emphasis on Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics.
- Collaboration with schools and teachers in the Effutu and Ajumako Educational Directorates.
- Mentoring and exposure delivered with the support of University faculty and students.
Who can apply
- Pupils in participating basic schools within Effutu and Ajumako.
- Schools nominated in consultation with the Educational Directorates.
Financial Support for Needy Indigenous Students
This programme area provides financial assistance to needy indigenes of Effutu and Ajumako pursuing tertiary education, reducing the cost barriers that prevent qualified students from completing their studies.
- Support towards tuition and accommodation costs.
- Particular attention to students admitted into STEM programmes.
- Applications assessed on the basis of documented financial need.
- Awards determined through the VCCIP Secretariat and approved by the governance structures.
Who can apply
- Indigenes of Effutu, Ajumako and eligible surrounding communities.
- Admitted to, or currently enrolled in, a recognised tertiary institution.
- Demonstrated financial need supported by the required documentation.
Community Apprenticeship Initiative Programme
CAIP equips young people with practical, marketable and employable skills through structured vocational training delivered with experienced artisans and University resource persons. Participants who successfully complete the training receive certification.
- Hands-on training across a broad range of vocational and creative fields.
- Instruction supported by experienced artisans and University resource persons.
- Certification on successful completion of the training.
- Focus on skills that improve employment and livelihood opportunities.
Who can apply
- Young people from Effutu, Ajumako and eligible surrounding communities.
- Interest and commitment to complete the full training period.
