2026 Trauma Awareness Walkathon and Community Wellness Programme

The Department of Counselling Psychology, Faculty of Applied Behavioural Sciences in Education, University of Education, Winneba, is pleased to announce the 2026 Trauma Awareness Walkathon and Community Wellness Programme.

This important university-wide initiative is organised to promote trauma awareness, mental health literacy, resilience-building, psychosocial well-being, and access to preventive healthcare within the University community.

Programme Schedule

Day 1 – Trauma Awareness Walkathon

Date: Thursday, 28th May 2026
Route: North Campus to Central Campus Walk Route
Time: 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM

Day 2 – Community Wellness Seminar

Date: Friday, 29th May 2026
Venue: Jophus Anamuah-Mensah Conference Centre
Time: 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM

Theme: “Trauma Awareness Walkathon: Restoring Minds, Rebuilding Communities.”

As part of efforts to strengthen trauma awareness and psychosocial support within the University community, the 2026 programme will feature:

  • Trauma advocacy walkathon
  • Keynote trauma education seminars
  • Preventive health screening
  • Psychosocial support services
  • Strategic stakeholder engagement

Students, staff, stakeholders, and the general University community are warmly encouraged to participate and support this impactful programme aimed at fostering mental wellness and community resilience.
