Post Graduate Diploma in Biology Education

Admission requirements

Any graduate with professional teachers’ qualification in the following is eligible to apply for the one-year (two sessions) Post Graduate Diploma in Biology Education Programme:

• BEd in Basic Education with quasi specialization in science from colleges of education or by distance mode.
• BSc Environmental Science or BEd Environmental Science.
• Any Bioengineering programme.
• Any Biomedical programme.
• BSc Agricultural Science degree or BEd Agricultural Science degree.
• BSc/BEd. Integrated Science Education
• Foreign applicants with relevant degrees mentioned above from any recognized/ accredited University may apply for the programme. However, such certificates will be evaluated by GTEC and those who qualify will be admitted. Furthermore, students from countries where English is not the official language will require proof of English proficiency.

NOTE: All applicants at the time of application have to submit certified copies of all transcripts, certified copies of certificates, and report from two (2) referees.  The Department will inspect the attached documents to find out those who qualify to be admitted. Satisfaction of the requirements above is necessary for one to be qualified for admission. Admitted candidates will be notified in writing and informed of their admission. Candidates are expected to produce their original documents for inspection after taking up the admission. The Programme is by sandwich.

Duration

The Programme will span one (1) year made up of two consecutive sandwich sessions for a minimum period of two long vacations. Each sandwich session will comprise eight (8) weeks consistent with the University Policy for sandwich programmes.
