ACS-Green Chemistry Conference

The American Chemical Society (ACS) International Student Chapter, Department of Chemistry Education, University of Education, Winneba (UEW), announces a Faculty–Student Conference to be held under the theme:

“Green Chemistry Without Borders: Sustainable Solutions Through Collaboration and Innovation.”

The conference is scheduled as follows:

Date: Friday, 13 February 2026
Time: 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Venue: North Assembly Hall, University of Education, Winneba.

This one-day academic event is being organised in strategic collaboration with the ACS Student Chapter of the University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR) and the Ghana Students Chemical Societies (GSCS) of UEW and the University of Cape Coast (UCC). The conference is designed to advance scientific engagement, strengthen inter-institutional collaboration within the chemistry community, and equip students with practical competencies in sustainability, innovation, and professional development.

The programme will feature two plenary presentations on sustainable chemistry and climate innovation, hands-on workshops for students, a mentorship and professional guidance session, and an Innovation Pitch Competition focused on chemistry-driven solutions to pressing environmental challenges facing Ghana and Africa.

All faculty members, students, researchers, and stakeholders with an interest in sustainable chemical science and innovation are warmly invited to participate.
