Republic Bank Explores Partnership Opportunities at UEW

The Management of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) has received a 17-member high-powered delegation from the Republic Bank PLC to discuss potential collaboration options.

The meeting, which took place at the Council Chamber, North Campus, UEW, attracted Directors of Republic Bank PLC, who were on campus to fortify relations between the two organisations and to explore possibilities in several areas, including infrastructure development, the provision of specialised training for industry-related personnel, and many others.

Sports and PE at the Heart of National Development – Prof. Ammah

A professor of Physical Education (PE) at the University of Education, Winneba (UEW), Prof. Jonathan Ammah, has asserted that sports and PE are crucial to the growth of a country.    

According to him, participating in physical activity helps people build a strong character, confidence, and happiness, as well as the ability to manage issues. He pointed out that these qualities usually help youth become better equipped to face the challenges of the competitive world, strengthening the cohesion and togetherness of a nation.

Government is Committed to Ensuring Parity in UEW – Effutu MP

The Member of Parliament (MP) for Effutu Constituency, Honourable Alexander Afenyo-Markin has reiterated Government’s commitment to ensure parity in the University of Education, Winneba (UEW).  

He said the Akufo-Addo led Government would not fold its arms and watch things deteriorate at the leading Teacher Education University in Ghana.

UEW to Strengthen its Corporate Social Responsibility through Collaboration

The Ag. Vice-Chancellor, Rev. Fr. Prof. Anthony Afful-Broni has affirmed the commitment of UEW Management to rekindle its Corporate Social Responsibility on high footing for Effutuman to harvest the fruits pretty soon.

The Ag. Vice-Chancellor said the newly branded Corporate Social Responsibility intervention and cooperation would cover several areas including Primary and Secondary Education, Library resourcing, Entrepreneurship training, Security and Employment.

UEW Signs MoU with Tai Solarin College of Education for Enhanced Collaboration

The Management of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) today, 15th August, 2018, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Tai Solarin College of Education, Omu-Ijebu, Ogun State, Nigeria to regulate their relationship.

The MoU which aims at enhancing research, staff and students’ exchange, staff capacity development and other academic and professional relationships was signed at the Council Chamber, North, Campus, UEW.

Acting Head of Department of Graphic Design attends FITC-Design Conference in Amsterdam

The Acting Head of Department of Graphic Design, Dr. Ebenezer Acquah attended a Design Conference at Amsterdam and visited the Department of Communication and Multimedia Design (CMD) at the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences in Netherlands from February 18, 2018 to March 3, 2018.

At CMD, Dr Acquah interacted with faculty members and students and initiated a discussion to foster collaboration between CMD and the Department of Graphic Design, University of Education, Winneba (UEW).

“Sustaining Muni Lagoon and Winneba” – A Collaboration between UEW and University of Virginia, USA

A four-day seminar, has been organized at the University of Education, Winneba, from Monday 5th March, 2018 to Thursday 8th March, 2018 under the aegis of the Centre for International Programmes (CIP). The seminar was co-sponsored by UEW and University of Virginia located in the City of Charlottesville, under the theme “Sustaining Muni Lagoon and Winneba”. The seminar was about a project on tapping the economic potentials of Muni Lagoon, including ecotourism in Winneba.
