UNIVERSITY OF EDUCATION,WINNEBA- POSTGRADUATE ACADEMIC PROGRAMMES
The School of Graduate Studies was established in the 1999/2000
academic year to address the academic manpower requirements of
some selected departments.
Before the establishment, however, a Memorandum of Understanding
(MOU) was signed in 1996 between the then University College of
Education, Winneba (UCEW) and the University of New York at Brockport
(SUNY Brockport). The purpose of the MOU was for SUNY Brockport to
assist in upgrading the academic qualifications of staff in the Department
of Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Sports (HPERS). A number
of students were trained under this scheme.
The first programme initiated by the School was a Masters programme
in Ghanaian Languages (Applied Linguistics) Three new programmes,
namely Masters in French, Masters in Social Studies Education and a
Postgraduate Diploma in Educational Administration and Management,
were started in the 2003/2004 academic year.
This brochure is to inform the public and provide would-be students, the
