UEW NUGS Holds Exhibition and Entrepreneurship Summit

The Women’s Commission of the U.E.W chapter of the National Union of Ghana Students (NUGS) has organised an exhibition and entrepreneurship summit themed “Building Economic Independence” for students on October 7, 2016 at the J.N. Aryetey Auditorium.

The highly attended summit took student through entrepreneurial skills with the speakers imparting the audience with tips needed to become an entrepreneur and staying on top of their game.

Senior High School Students’ Views on the Teaching of Integrated Science in Ghana

A surver by Dr. J. A. Azure on Senior High School students’ perceptions of the teaching of Integrated Science in Ghana revieled that  most of the processes of science (i.e. observing, hypothesising, classifying, taking measurements, reporting, etc.) were not often carried out in Integrated Science lessons in Ghana.

UEW Female students awarded Vodafone Scholarship

Ten female undergraduate science students have been awarded Vodafone scholarship at a presentation ceremony organised by the Gender Mainstreaming Directorate at the University of Education, Winneba on 7th October, 2016.

The Ceremony brought together representations from the management team of the University of Education, Winneba, Staff of Vodafone Ghana and British Council as well as other dignitaries from a cross section of the University community.

Village Savings and Educational Investments

 

A research publication of a study that investigates whether savings groups, often known as Village Savings and Loan Associations (VSLA), affect educational investment and outcomes. These are groups that meet periodically (usually weekly), require members to contribute savings, allow members to take loans with interest, and 'share out' the accumulated savings and interest to members at the end of a cycle (usually annual). The study is based on a review of the research literature and evaluations, and primary fieldwork conducted in Ghana.

UEW Mounts Distance Education Mobile App On Google Play Store

The University of Education, Winneba (UEW) which is a pace setter in Distance Education in Ghana has added on to its innovative ways of delivering distance education, a New Mobile App to be accessed by its numerous distance students across the country.

This innovation is a mobile application; called “UEW Distance App” created by the Information Technology Services Directorate of the University and can be found on Google Play Store.
