Preventive Crime and Campus Surveillance | A Workshop for Security Staff

The Division of Human Resources in collaboration with the Security Services Directorate is organizing a-two day Training Workshop for all Security Staff in the Directorate to equip them with new skills and prevent the occurrence of Crimes on UEW campus on UEW campus.

EHB Vice-Rector Calls on UEW Vice-Chancellor

The Vice-Rector of Evangelische Hochschule Berlin (EHB), a Protestant University of Applied Sciences in Germany, Prof. Dr. Michael Komorek, has paid a working visit to the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW), Prof. Mawutor Avoke.

The Vice-Rector was following up on a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between UEW and EHB signed last year and exploring additional collaboration potential.

The meeting took place at Council Chamber, North Campus, UEW, on Wednesday, 8th March, 2023.

Women Thrive When Given Equal Opportunities with Men - UEW Pro-Vice-Chancellor

Prof. Andy Ofori-Birikorang, Pro-Vice-Chancellor of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW), has stressed the significance of providing women with equal access and opportunities in all spheres of life.

He opined that when women are in positions of leadership, they advance society more than men because they uphold better moral standards.

ASANTEMAN, A Stage Performance by the Department of Theatre Arts UEW

The Department of Theatre Arts, UEW is performing a play titled Asanteman written by JOT Agyeman and directed by Dr. Evans Asante and Mr. Divine Kyere-Owusu. The play reveals some historical events that led to the formation of the Asante Kingdom. The production is scheduled as follows:

Portia Solomon Gabor, the Ghana Journalists Association's (GJA) Journalist of the Year 2021, has provided profound insight to students of the School of Communication and Media Studies (SCMS), University of Education, Winneba (UEW), on achieving excellence in journalism.

The TV3 Network News Anchor illustrated outstanding journalism with some of her news reports that dealt with real issues.

Sports and PE at the Heart of National Development – Prof. Ammah

A professor of Physical Education (PE) at the University of Education, Winneba (UEW), Prof. Jonathan Ammah, has asserted that sports and PE are crucial to the growth of a country.    

According to him, participating in physical activity helps people build a strong character, confidence, and happiness, as well as the ability to manage issues. He pointed out that these qualities usually help youth become better equipped to face the challenges of the competitive world, strengthening the cohesion and togetherness of a nation.

Search for Chancellor for UEW

In accordance with Statute 4[9-12] of UEW Statutes 2020, the Governing Council of UEW has constituted a Search Committee to scout for suitable persons one of whom shall be appointed as Chancellor for UEW.
