UEW Commissions Several Projects for the Benefit of Students

The University of Education, Winneba (UEW) has commissioned several projects for the use and benefit of its students.  

The commissioning was done on Wednesday, 26th May, 2021, at the North and Central Campuses of the University by the Chief of Staff, Hon. Akosua Frema Opare, who represented the President of the Republic of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo. Hon. Frema Opare was assisted by the Minister of Education, Hon. Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum and the Management of UEW.

UEW-ITECPD Trains Tutors of Affiliate Colleges of Education on Subject Based Manuals

The Institute for Teacher Education and Continuing Professional Development (ITECPD) has organised a weeklong workshop for tutors of the Colleges of Education affiliated to the University of Education, Winneba (UEW).  

The workshop, which started on Monday, 17th and ended on Saturday, 22nd May, 2021, at the Windy Lodge Hotel in Winneba, was on “Subject Based Course Manuals (Junior High School core and electives) and Professional Development session for B.Ed. Programme – year two, second-semester courses”.

AFRICAN UNION DAY SEMINAR

Admission Into 1st Cohort Of 2022 Postgraduate Diploma in Teaching & Learning in Higher Education (PGDTLHE) Weekend Programme

Applications are invited from qualified applicants for admission into the first (1st) Cohort of the 2022 Postgraduate Diploma in Teaching & Learning in Higher Education (PGDTLHE). This is a postgraduate programme run on weekend basis at the University of Education, Winneba.

The 1st Cohort of the 2022 academic year will begin on 15th January 2022. The PGDTLHE programme is designed to provide for professional training and development of academics in performing their diverse and changing roles as teachers in tertiary institutions.

UEW 25TH CONGREGATION | SECOND SESSION | VIRTUAL MODE

The University of Education, Winneba hereby wishes to inform 2021 graduands and the general public on the Second Session of the 25th congregation ceremony for the award of degrees, diplomas and certificates to Regular, Distance and Sandwich students. The ceremony will be in virtual mode and streamed live on the University’s website and other official social media platforms. The graduation ceremony will admit only graduating PhD and Undergraduate first class honours students. Parents/guardians and well wishers will not be allowed on campus.

UEW VREF Team Engages its Local Stakeholders

A team of Faculty Members of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) who recently won a research grant from Volvo Research and Educational Foundations (VREF), has held a meeting with its local stakeholders on the progress made and the way forward. 

The meeting, which took place on Tuesday, 11th May, 2021, at the Faculty of Educational Studies (FES), North Campus, Winneba, briefed the stakeholders on steps taken for the project: “Towards a disability-inclusive urban transport system in Accra and Nairobi: a policy-practice agenda”.

UEW Signs MoU with T-TEL

The University of Education, Winneba (UEW), has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with a Ghanaian not-for-profit organisation, Transforming Teaching, Education and Learning (T-TEL) to effectively implement the reforms in teacher education, including the B.Ed curriculum in UEW’s affiliated Colleges of Education and the pre-tertiary education curriculum reform.

Call for Applications for Fulbright Scholar and Student Exchange Programs - U.S. Embassy Ghana

EPUC Partners UEW for the Award of UEW Degree

Management of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) and the Evangelical Presbyterian University College (EPUC) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at the Council Chamber, North Campus, UEW, today, Monday, 10th May, 2021. 

This instrument of affiliation establishes a framework with a view to each party exercising several and joint responsibilities in the fullest sense to ensure that academic standards of all programmes are maintained and enhanced under a level of attainment appropriate for the award of a Degree of UEW.

UEW Council Chair Inducts Eight-Member Vice-Chancellor Search Committee

The Chairman of the Governing Council, University of Education, Winneba (UEW), Prof. Obeng Mireku, has sworn in an eight-member Search Committee set up by the University Governing Council to search for a suitable candidate to occupy the position of Vice-Chancellor. 

The industrious current Vice-Chancellor, Rev. Fr. Prof. Anthony Afful-Broni will be retiring at the end of September this year thereby, making the position vacant from 1st October, 2021.
